Review : Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation

I have always been a Bare Minerals girl...well at least for the past few years. I like how it blends, I like how long it lasts and I LOVE the price. However, with the winter being so dry, I have found myself in search of a moisturizing liquid foundation, that is light and airy. I went to Sephora and spent about an hour in there, looking at different foundations, but not quite finding anything I liked...until Bobbi Brown.

I had the book Teen Beauty that was written forever ago, but that was the only experience I had with Bobbi Brown was the book. The girl at the counter was an amazing sales person because she convinced me to spend $45 on the Skin Foundation (I am Warm Ivory in case you were wondering).

I have had this foundation for about 2 months now and I LOVE IT! It last so long and I only need 1 pump each time. I love the fact that it has a pump, it makes it easier to apply. I never get too fussy with foundation so I like to apply with my fingers, and this blends so well. It gives me a light coverage, but still evens my skin and most importantly, my flakes are nearly GONE. I may have to switch to something less moisturizing as the summer comes, but I am so impressed. Bobbi Brown has a stick foundation also, which I would love to try. It's got a little more coverage.

I have been getting tanner recently so I am not sure how much longer my color will match, but I will be sad to have to switch to another color or brand. Think of this as a Tinted Moiosturizer. I have been using it with my Sally Hansen Natural Beauty Inspired by Carmindy Translucent Powder (In Light) and it works well to pick up and extra deweyness.

If you have dry skin, and love a light natural coverage, Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation is the right one for you! Give it a try, it's worth the investment.

Prevent Signs of Aging...Naturally!

Hey there gorgeous!

Are you in your teens, twenties or any age really...and are worried about fine lines and wrinkles in your future, then read on! There are several ways to prevent the signs of aging without having to spend tons of money on anti aging products. Although there are a lot of products out there now that work wonders on wrinkles, but you can take steps to help signs of aging also.

1) Get your rest! - You need at least 7 hours of sleep (minimum) each night in order for your body to be able to repair itself. One of the things that renews at night is our skin. I recommend that you use some kind of Night Creme, but you don't have to. Just make sure you go to bed at a decent hour so that your skin have enough time to rejuvenate.

2) Drink Water! - You should already know how good water is for your skin, but let me reiterate...WATER IS ESSENTIAL! You should be drinking half of your body weight in ounces everyday. For example 150lbs = 75oz of water a day! Drinking enough water is the best thing you can do, and it's cheap...usually FREE.

3) Exercise - Regular exercise is crucial for your health and for your skin. Increased circulation delivers nutrients to skin cells (and you may even lose a few pounds...awesome!).

4) Eat! - Having fruits high in antioxidants like Pomegranate and Blueberry's. Antioxidants quench free radicals (which can cause premature aging)...so ladies and gentleman...EAT UP!

5) Take the Stresses down a notch. Try taking a bath at night with some Aromatherapy Salts, or if you prefer to shower in the morning, you can wake up with an Awakening Shower Gel. Aromatherapy is a great way to distress...but you can also just take a few deep breaths when you feel stressed or remove yourself from a stressful situation.

Hopefully these tips will help you all feel and look your best for years to come! Thanks for reading.

Sally Hansen Natural Beauty Inspired by Carmindy

Sally Hansen Natural Beauty inspired by Carmindy

Lately I have been buying higher end products such as Bobbi Brown and Bare Minerals for mu cosmetics, but I have recently discovered these amazing products! They are by Sally Hansen (which I only ever associated with Nail Polish). The price point is a little higher than normal for drugstore ($8-$14) but I am enjoying these products.

If you're like me and you love Carmindy (What Not To Wear) then you will like these products. By the way, she uses all her own products in the makeovers on the show. So far, the products I have tried are the Brightening Concealer, Light Concealer, Light Translucent Powder, Forever Stay Moisture Gloss in Playful Pink and Cream Blush in Beaming.

Eye Brightening Concealer : This product is great. Its a light lavender color that I dab on my under eye area and it really reflects the light. It makes my eyes appear brighter.

Concealer : This goes on very smoothly and covers pretty well. Its been a while since I have used a concealer because my skin is pretty clear usually, but this does the trick and at $9 is better priced than some high end competitors.

Here is a Swatch of both concealers...(The Light blends so well you can barely see it but its to the right of the Brightening Concealer)

Translucent Powder : I think this product really does a good job at wiping away any oiliness but still letting the dewiness of my Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation show through!

Cream Blush in Beaming!: This is such a pretty color, but the wear time is questionable. The only other Cream Blush I have ever bought is Urban Decay's AfterGlow Glide-On Cheek tint in Quicky (which BTW is VEGAN!) and that lasted almost all day, but I think I might have put too much on to begin with because my cheeks were super bright.  Anyway, back to Beaming. It is a sheer soft color good for those with a lighter skin tone.

Forever Stay Moisture Gloss in Playful Pink : This is such a pretty color for my lips. I usually try to go for something light pink or peach, but this is a warmer pink that just enhances my natural lip color. Beautiful! The texture is much like MAC which I love...i prefer sticky gloss to slippery so I guess this depends on your preference. Downfall...the smell is kind of off...like a super strong berry scent. Not my cup of tea.

Overall, I really enjoy these products for the price. I really want to try Carmindy's famous Airbrush Foundation, but I am a little scared to switch since I LOVE Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation. I think I will give it a go though, and will update you with my findings.

Arbonne FC5 Complexion Revitalizing Set Review

With spring right around the corner (Sat. March 20th to be exact) I have been in search of some really amazing, fresh products to use for my Spring/Summer skin care routine. I have a hard time deciding on if I should choose some kind of AntiAging Product, or just something ordinary.

I am 25 years old, so I definarely don't have wrinkles yet, but I feel like I am getting some fine lines around my eyes from smiling so much. :)

I have found an AMAZING product line, that I absolutely love and have to share. The company is Arbonne, and the product line is FC5.

First, a little about the Company. Arbonne is a health and welness company that sells their products through Direct Marketing and word of mouth advertising. Their products are all Certified Vegan! Which is amazing because who wants to slather animal fat onto their skin to moisturize it. ::Gross!::

The product line FC5 is geered towards Teens and 20 somethings. The idea behind this line is to prevent the signs of aging from happening. Young women need to HYDRATE their skin in order to prevent wrinkles. FC5 actually has two different lines for their skin care alond with some specialty products.

My skin is Combination/Dry. Some seasons its dryer and some it's oilier, so I have actually tried both lines.
During the Winter/Spring my skin tends to be dry, so I am going to talk about the Complexion Revitalizing Set in this post. (The other set is the Complexion Perfecting Set).

There are 3 products in the main set:

1. Hydrating Cleanser and Freshener
2. Nurturing Day Lotion with SPF 20
3. Moisturizing Night Creme.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE these products. You should always use a Wash and Toner, and this wash combines them so it's great if you're pressed for time. It doesn't make my skin feel tight and dry like many cleansers do. The Day Lotion is amazing, it leaves my skin dewy and NOT greasy! Who likes grease? Definately not me. And the night creme is just something that every girl should have in her beauty arsenal. It restores dull tired skin and gives you a fresh pretty face in the morning!

You can find these products at the Arbonne Webstore! If you would like more information about these amazing products, please comment below!
